Courtney Glazer, Ph.D.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Courtney Glazer. I am constantly engaged in scholarly pursuits.

My latest pursuit takes me to Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Educator Student Services in the Department of Education. This job allows me to have one foot in each of my two favorite contexts: university and K-12 public schools.

I received my doctorate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003. My dissertation focuses on a new way of looking at emotion among groups called "distributed emotion." My coursework as a doctoral student focused on curriculum studies, instructional technology, qualitative research, communication, and emotion. While at UT, I worked on several projects in support of pre-service, novice, and in-service teachers both face-to-face and online.

Prior to entering UT, I completed my Master's at Stanford University. My work there focused on learning, design, and technology, and culminated in the design of a real-time network for teacher communication.

In my other past lives I worked as an English teacher, technology teacher, and instructional designer in the Allen Independent School District. I also worked as a technology specialist on a grant at the Region 10 Education Service center. And for a time in between I worked full time at Barnes & Noble Booksellers. All of these jobs were in the Dallas area.
